Fotomontasje, sammensatt av tre opptak, som gir et vidvinkelperspektiv på anleggsområdet ved Furuholmen i Varteig, der det i 1953 ble støpt ei moderne kai for Glomma fellesfløtingsforenings slepebåter. Fotografiet ble tatt tidlig i anleggsperioden. Vi ser forskalinga, som da fotografiet ble tatt, var i ferd med å få innvendig bordkledning. Til venstre i bildet ligger det et par digre steinrøyser. Steinen er tydeligvis hentet fra andre steder i nærområdet (jfr. SJF. 1990-04006) og rent ned bakkeskråningen til anleggsområdet på ei trerenne fra en tipplass til venstre for dette bildeutsnittet. Vi skimter en kar som var i ferd med å plukke stein fra ei av røysene over i ei trillebår da fotografiet ble tatt. Steinen ble trulig brukt som fyllmasse ved ei rørgate for en bekk som rant ut i hovedvassdraget til høyre i bildet og i og ved kaimuren. I forgrunnen, sentralt i bildemontasjen, sto det en betongblandemaskin på en treplattform. Ned mot denne maskinen og plattformen den sto på var det også bygd ei trerenne, antakelig for å få sementsekker og støpesand lettvint ned til blanderen fra en ovenforliggende tipplass. Vi skimter tre menn i arbeid ved maskinen. Vi ser også hvordan det er lagt bordganger fra betongblanderen ned mot forskalinga til kaimuren. Der nede sto det også parkert en bil, en Jeep. På det blanke vannspeilet like utenfor kaiforskalinga lå det en kjede med ”moser” (tømmerbunter). Til venstre i bildet ser vi også et par materialhauger inne på land, antakelig skurlast til forskalingsarbeidet.

Da fløtinga i Glomma ble avviklet i 1985 ble det ordnet slik at fellesfløtingsforeningens arkivsaker ble overlatt til Riksarkivet, som valgte å fortsette å oppbevare dem i det eksisterende arkivrommet ved Fellesfløtingsforeningens kontor på Fetsund. Amanuensis Øivind Vestheim fra Norsk Skogbruksmuseum veiledet lokale prosjektansatte, som startet ordning av materialet. Den daglige forvaltningen av arkivene er seinere overtatt av medarbeidere fra museet som ble etablert på Fetsund lenser i 1990. Fotosamlinga fra Glomma fellesfløtingsforening ble overført til daværende Norsk Skogbruksmuseum i Elverum. Materialet består av 72 album. Motivene er fra hele Glommavassdraget, samt fra ymse ekskursjonsreiser fløtingsfunksjonærene deltok i langs andre vassdrag. Museumsfotograf OT Ljøstad har reprodusert de fleste av opptakene i dette materialet og skrevet negativnummere i albumene han har utført repro fra. Det finnes også originalnegativer til en del av motivene. Disse skal være merket og ordnet i mapper etter at de kom til museet.
Other informationJohs. Johannesen ble født i Oslo 16. mai 1877. Han tok artium i 1895, og tre år seinere ble han uteksaminert som bygningsingeniør fra Kristiania tekniske skole. Deretter var han ansatt ved Gleim og Eyde i Lübeck, seinere ved Eydes ingeniørkontor i Kristiania. I perioden 1900-01 studerte han ved den tekniske høgskolen i Dresden. I 1902 ble han fløtingsinspektør i Glomma-vassdraget, og fire år seinere ble han utnevnt til direktør i Christiania Tømmerdirektion, seinere kalt Glomma Fellesfløtingsforening. Denne stillingen hadde han fram til våren 1948, da han nådde aldersgrensen. Johannesen var ofte medlem av ulike tekniske kommisjoner, både i og utenfor fløtingsvesenet. Han skal blant annet ha høstet anerkjennelse for den innsatsen han gjorde i grenseforhandlinger med Russland. Johannesen var medlem av hovedstyret i Norsk Ingeniørforening fra 1925 til 1933, og i de tre siste åra av denne perioden var han styreleder med tittelen "president". Johs.
