- Direktørvillaen på Eide var eit av dei første husa karbidfabrikken bygde etter oppstart av anlegget i 1906. den vart då kalla Blåsenborg. Det låg i god avstand til fabrikken og hadde vakker utsikt over Odda. Arkitekten var Jens Zetlitz Monrad Kielland, som hadde teikna Gamlehaugen for Christian Michelsen i Bergen. Han var utdanna i Charlottenburg ved Berlin.Både utvendig og innvendig hadde det vakre utskjeringar i drakestil. Deler av fasaden var kledd med spon som på stavkyrkjene. Direktørparet Albert og Leonie Petersson tok huset i bruk omkring 1907. Fram til Peterssons død i 1914 vart huset kalla "Dr. Peterssons villa". Deretter flytta direktør Frans W. Bruce og familien inn og vart buande i 38 år, til 1953. Villaen vart sidan kalla "Brucevillaen", men Brucefamilien kalla huset "Blåsenborg". I 1962 vedtok styret for Odda Smelteverk AS å riva huset. Den nye direktørfamilien synest bustaden i den store hagen var for gammaldags. Brucehagen gav seinare tomteplass til mange nye heimar for tilsette ved smelteverket.
