Eugen Nielsens samling består blant annet av sporer, stigbøyler, bitt og hodelag. Vesentlige deler av samlingen har tidligere vært samlet og eid av Ragnar G. Søegaard (1852-1924 ), Eidsvoll. Gjenstandene er fra Europa og andre verdensdeler, hvorav de nyeste objektene er fra 1900-tallet og de eldste dateres til tidlig middelalder. Samlingen består av ca. 700 numre.
Samlingen ble anskaffet til Drammens Museum i 1964, fra dødsboet etter arkitekt Eugen Nielsen (1884-1963) via bobestyrer Baard Frøen. Samlingen ble innkjøpt for 5000 kroner, hvorav 1000 kroner var gave fra sekretær Johan Wulfsberg, Oslo, og 3000 kroner var gave fra Drammens Museums venner.
