- Dette fotografiet tok daværende museumsbestyrer Tore Fossum (1926-2017) på Elverum prestegards jorde like nord for museet. Bildet ble muligens tatt med tanke på skogbruksutstillingen som ble bygd i de nye museumslokalene tidlig i 1970-åra. August Herstadhagen (1886-1977) hadde i midten av 1960-åra overlatt museet en stutting eller skikjelke han sjøl hadde lagd med sikte på manuell lunning av tømmer. Fossum oppfordret sannsynligvis giveren til å vise hvordan redskapet ble brukt, og dokumenterte dette og andre tradisjonelle lunningsteknikker Herstadhagegn hadde erfaring med. Stuttingen ble innlemmet i samlingene under signaturnummeret SJF.01383. Dette skjedde i første halvdel av 1960-åra, antakelig i 1964. August Herstadhagen var en tradisjonsbærer Tore Fossum hadde mye kontakt med. Han var blant annet en av hovedinformantene museumsbestyreren brukte i arbeidet med artikkelen «Neverkonten og litt om andre bæreredskap i skog og mark» (Norsk Skogbruksmuseums årbok nr. 3 [1961-1962]).
