Fakta om filmen Brent Jord:
Brent jord er et norsk krigsdrama fra 1969, regissert av Knut Andersen. Manuset ble skrevet av Sigbjørn Hølmebakk og var basert på hans roman Fimbulvinteren, som utkom i 1964.
Handlingen utspiller seg i Finnmark vinteren 1944. Den tyske okkupasjonsmakten trekker seg tilbake, presset av Den røde armé. På vei sørover svir de etter hvert av et landområde like stort som Danmark. Til sammen ble om lag 60 000 mennesker tvangsflyttet, og 11 000 bolighus, 116 skoler og 21 sykehus ble ødelagt, i tillegg til broer, kraftverk og kaianlegg. Filmen skildrer disse hendelsene og konsekvensene det fikk for enkeltmennesker og hele samfunn der både bygd og by var lagt øde. Den fikk terningkast seks av VG da filmen kom ut. "En spennende film uten dødpunkter hvor regissør, fotograf og skuespillere har ytet sitt ypperste og hvor alt har lykkes", var anmelderens mening.
