- Dette fotografiet er tatt av Tore Fossum, som var konservator og leder for Norsk Skogmuseum fra 1961. Tittelen ble justert til museumsbestyrer ti år seinere, og fra 1982 til han nådde pensjonsalderen i 1994 var Fossum museumsdirektør. Da dette fotografiet ble tatt, i 1971, var museet i ferd med å flyttes fra lokaler i våningshuset og låven på klokkergarden Fossum til et nybygg i betong og tegl noe lengre nord. På dette tidspunmktet hadde Norsk Skogbruksmuseum en stab på sju personer hvorav to var midlertidig ansatt for å arbeide med utstillinger. Med såpass liten personalgruppe måtte Fossum ta et museumsfaglig hovedansvar for virksomheten ved siden av de mer administrative funksjonene som var knyttet til lederstillingen. Vinteren 1971 handlet mye om å få ferdig utstillinger om skogbruk og skogsarbeid til nybygget skulle åpnes av kong Olav V i nærvær av museets representantskap og et stort pressekorps i juni. Bildeserien med tømmerkjører Jørgen Larsen ble muligens tatt med sikte på at man skulle ha tilgang på motiver som passet for den nevnte skogbruksutstillingen.
