NSB Bilruter Ålesundruta overtok ruta Ålesund-Åndalsnes i oktober 1948. Bussene hadde en kort puse på Ørskogfjellet ved turisthytta. Den ligger omtrent midt mellom Ålsund og Åndalsnes.
