Dette fotografiet er tatt av Kjell Søgård, som i fra midten av 1950-åra til han tidlig i 1970-åra ble alvorlig sjuk og døde, var fotograf med avisa Østlendingen som hovedoppdragsgiver. Søgård leverte også film og bilder til Norsk Skogbruksmuseum. Han gjorde blant annet opptakene til kulturhistoriske dokumentasjonsfilmer om eikebarkfletting (1965), grindalsfluefiske (1966), hankekjøring av tømmer (1967) og tømmerfløting i Arendalsvassdraget (1970). Søgård leverte dessuten stillfotografier til museets utstillinger og publikasjoner. Hans personlige interesser var sammenfallende med museets tematikk. Alt fra ungdomsåra var Kjell Søgård en ivrig jeger, og som voksen jaktet han elg, rein, rådyr, småvilt og fugl. Etter hans død overlot kona Jenny og dattera Vera negativarkivet etter Kjell Søgård til Norsk Skogbruksmuseum (som fra 2003 har vært drevet under navnet Norsk Skogmuseum). Materialet ble forsvarlig arkivert i museets magasin, men det var i mange år lite brukt. I samband med forberedelsene til den nye basisutstillingen om jakt, ferskvannsfiske og sanking («Tråkk i mangfoldig natur», 3. byggetrinn) ble Søgård-samlinga gjennomgått, og man fant mange motiver som ble brukt i utstillingen. Vi oppdaget også en god del andre kulturhistorisk interessante motiver, som ble skannet og registrert i museets elektroniske fotodatabase. Det vil imidlertid ta lang tid før hele Søgård-samlinga er å finne i denne databasen (BB 2014).
Dette fotografiet er i samråd med Norsk Skogmuseums fotograf registrert med informasjon om oppgavsmann i denne rubrikken i stedet for i bildehistorikkfeltet. Bakgrunnen for denne løsningen er usikkerhet knyttet til hva Kjell Søgårds etterkommere kan mene om at hans navn knyttes til slike motiver. Fanen «Bildehistorikk» er søkbar for allmennheten som bruker fotodatabasen «DigitaltMuseum». Fanen «Andre opplysninger» skal kun være søkbar fra passordbeskyttete PCer i museet.

Fotografiet viser ei lyshåret kvinne på det parkettbelagte dansegulvet som var skjermet mot de omkringstående bordene, hvor gjestene spiste og drakk. Danseren hadde sko og ei truse på seg. Armene, overkroppen og beina var iført et grovmasket nettingstoff, som på ingen måte skjulte kvinnekroppen. I høyre hånd holdt aktøren ei diger fjærvifte, som antakelig hadde vært brukt til å dekke «pirrende» kroppsdeler i den erotisk ladde forestillingens innledende fase. Musikken til forestillingen ble framført at tre mannlige restaurantmusikere, som spiller klaver, kontrabass og trommer (jfr. SJF-F. 006996). Nakenhet var tabubelagt da dette fotografiet ble tatt, og følgelig ganske eksotisk i et litet lokalsamfunn som Elverum. Restauranten lå i underetasjen av den fløyen av kommunens rådhus som vendte mot Storgata. Bygningen var tegnet av arkitektfirmaet Torp & Torp, og sto ferdig i 1956. Restaurant Elvarheim hadde derfor svært moderne lokaler da dette bildet ble tatt.
