Interiør fra et av saghusene ved Saugbrugsforeningen i Halden. Fotografiet er antakelig tatt før 1920. Fotografiet viser et industrilokale med to saglinjer, begge såkalte «rammesager». Den som står sentralt i bildet har to parallellstilte blader, noe som indikerer at den ble brukt til å «kante» tømmerstokkene, altså skjære bort to bakhuner, slik at man fikk stabilt anlegg når stokken gikk videre til ei anna ramme med flere blader, som delte den opp i planker og bord. Dette kan ha vært gjort på den sagramma vi ser til venstre i bildet. Mange bruk hadde sagrammer som var forankret i slider i stolper som var reist mellom golvet og takbjelkene. Her later det til at rammene er montert i frittstående stålrammer. Krumtapper på roterende akslinger i etasjen under fikk rammene til å bevege seg hurtig opp og ned – på den tida dette fotografiet ble tatt vanligvis med en slaglengde på 30-50 centimeter og med en hastighet på cirka 250 omdreininger i minuttet. Stokkene som skulle skjæres til skurlast ble lagt på vogner, oftest med toppenden foran, og ført langsomt mot sagramma. Foran sagramma ble stokken fastklemt mellom to valser, fødevalsene, hvorav den underste hadde ei riflet overflate. Også på motsatt side av sagramma var det et tilsvarende valsepar, som førte det skårne virket mot ei vogn som tok det videre. Da dette fotografiet ble tatt sto fire-fem menn i samtale til høyre for sagramma, hvor det lå en del ukantete tømmerstokker, klare til å rulles ned på vogna som førte inn mot sagrammene. Fotografiet viser ellers at saghuset var bygd i pusset teglmur med vinduer i støpejernsrammer, altså et forholdsvis ildresistente materialer. Takkonstruksjonen er derimot utført i tre, men med en del lysåpninger, antakelig vindusrammer i arker på takflatene. Maskineriet som drev saglinjene - med akslinger, reimskiver og drivreimer - befant seg i etasjen under dette produksjonslokalet.

Originalkopien til dette fotografiet er arkivert i en svart ringperm museumsfotograf OT Ljøstad har merket «NLH» fordi denne bildesamlinga, som stort sett består av kontaktkopier, skal være overlatt Norsk Skogmuseum fra det skogfaglige miljøet ved Norges landbrukshøgskole. En god del av motivene er publisert i skogbruksdelen av tobindsverket «Landbruksboken» som tidligere høgskoledirektør Nils Ødegaard redigerte og fikk utgitt i 1919. Det er nærliggende å tro at det var disse bildene redaktøren og de skogfaglige bidragsyterne (Paul Akre, Agnar Barth, Jakob Kaurin, Albert K. Myhrwold, Wilhelm M. Schøyen og Nordal Wille) valgte blant når de skulle illustrere skogbruksdelen av boka. Dette motivet er ikke blant dem som ble publisert.
