I 1928 hadde Amund Stana og broren Lars lagt fram eit forslag for Tyssefaldene om å byggja ei taubane frå innst i Ringedalen opp til Mikkelstøl (Mekjelstøl) og vidare innover til Nibbehølen og Håvardsvatnet. Amund og Lars hadde klatra i fjellet i mange år, og studert terrenget nøye. Dei fann ut at i fjellet innst i Ringedalen var tilhøva særs lagelege for ein transportheis. Taubaneprosjektet vart godkjend, og Amund Stana, som var tilsett på Tyssefaldene, fekk kontrakten. Han valde ut fire frivillige til å vera med på jobben. Desse var Torbjørn Torblå, Eirik Instanes, Lars Stalheim og Emil Træen.
Vegen opp langs fjellsida var særs bratt, og på ein stad stakk det ut ein fjellnabbe som gjorde stien så smal at dei måtte gå sidelengs med andletet inn mot fjellveggen for ikkje å ramla ned. Men materialet kom opp, og den 21. mai 1928 var taubanen i full drift. Den gjekk opp fjellsida til Nibbenut før utstyret vart frakta vidare med hest og slede til Nybu. Transporten var no blitt lettare og kortare og meir effektiv. Taubana vart nytta under Tysso II utbygginga på 1960-talet.
