Dette fotografiet er hentet fra et arkiv der bildene i hovedsak er tatt av medarbeidere fra Skogdirektørens kontor (Skogdirektoratet, seinere Direktoratet for statens skoger og Statskog SF) i samband med befaringsreiser i forvaltningsdistriktene. Negativsamlinga, med samme nummerering, er også overlatt til museet, men mye mangler og noe er dårlig bevart, blant annet fordi opptakene i hovedsak er gjort på nitratfilm. Dette bildet har ikke bevart originalnegativ. Det finnes også et større antall diaskopier, samt originale positivkopier utenfor katalogsystemet, men med samme originalnummerering fra arkivskaperne. Det fotografiske mateerialet Norsk Skogmuseum har overtatt fra den statlige skogetaten omfatter dessuten et betydelig antall nyere positivkopier som er ordnet etter emner og personnavn hos arkivskaperne, uten egne nummerreferanser.
