Dette fotografiet er hentet fra DSS-arkivet, der bildene i hovedsak er tatt av medarbeidere fra Skogdirektørens kontor (senere Direktoratet for statens skoger) i samband med befaringsreiser i forvaltningsdistriktene. Negativsamlinga, med samme nummerering, er også overlatt til museet, men mye mangler og noe er dårlig bevart, blant annet fordi opptakene i hovedsak er gjort på nitratfilm. Dette bildet har ikke bevart originalnegativ. Det finnes også et større antall diaskopier, samt originale positivkopier utenfor katalogsystemet, men med samme originalnummerering fra DSS. Det fotografiske arkivet Norsk Skogmuseum har overtatt etter den statlige skogeteaten omfatter dessuten et betydelig antall nyere positivkopier som er registrert etter emner og personnavn hos DSS, uten egne nummer.
