Disse fotografiene er i hovedsak tatt av medarbeidere fra Skogdirektørens kontor (senere Direktoratet for statens skoger) i samband med befaringsreiser i forvaltningsdistriktene. Negativsamlinga, med samme nummerering, er også overlatt til museet, men mye mangler og noe er dårlig bevart, blant annet fordi opptakene i hovedsak er gjort på nitratfilm. Dette bildet har bevart originalnegativ. Det finnes også et større antall diaskopier, samt originale positivkopier utenfor katalogsystemet, men med samme originalnummerering fra DSS. Den fotografiske samlinga etter den statlige skogetaten omfatter dessuten et betydelig antall nyere positivkopier som er registrert etter emner og personnavn hos DSS, uten egne nummer.
SubjectFurubestand i Tjuvålia i Beiarn statsskoger. Fotografiet er tatt på en litt skrinn mo der det står furutrær med litt varierende diameter. Markvegetasjonen domineres av lyng.

Det fotografiske materialet etter den offentlige skogforvaltminga inneholder også et større antall diaskopier, samt originale positivkopier utenfor katalogsystemet, men med samme originalnummerering fra DSS. Samlinga omfatter dessuten et betydelig antall nyere positivkopier som er registrert på emne og person hos DSS, uten egne nummer.
