- Disse bildene er i hovedsak tatt av statlige skogfunksjonærer og utsendinger fra Skogdirektørens kontor (senere Direktoratet for statens skoger) i forbindelse med befaringsreiser. Negativsamlinga, med samme nummerering, er også avlevert til museet, men mye mangler og mye er dårlig bevart, blant annet fordi at opptakene i hovedsak er gjort på nitratfilm. Dette bildet har bevart originalnegativ (nitrat) med format 14, 0 X 8, 2 centimeter. I den fotografiske samlinga fra den statlige skogadministrasjonen finnes også et større antall diaskopier, samt originale positivkopier utenfor katalogsystemet, men med samme originalnummerering fra DSS. Samlinga omfatter i tillegg et betydelig antall nyere positivkopier som er registrert på emne og person hos DSS, uten egne nummer.
