Iladalen kirke ser en ærpreget langkirke med tårnet plassert ved siden av vestfasaden, oppført i utvendig og innvendig pusset tegl, etter tegninger av Ragnar Nilsen i 1941. Kirken er en arbeidskirke med stor og liten menighetssal med heisbare skillevegger inn til kirkeskipet, kjøkken og prestekontor. Den er oppført med leiligheter for kirketjener og menighetssøster. Her inngikk kirke, park og bolig i et stort funksjonalistisk prosjekt.
Interiøret er preget av enkle og rene former i en blanding av nyklassisisme og funksjonalisme. Altertavlen er tegnet av Per Vigeland og skåret av Wilhelm R. Sjøwall. Per Vigeland har også utført fondveggens freskomaleri som viser Kristi himmelfart. Her har flere av samtidens prester og biskoper lånt sine ansikter til disiplene.
