I likhet med Ole Tvedten drev også Even T. Lande gård i Setesdal, men på Eidsvoll gikk de hver sine veier. Riktignok var begge med å signere et forslag om å grunnlovsfeste odelsretten, men i nasjonale spørsmål valgte de ulike sider: Tvedten holdt med flertallet, mens Lande fulgte førsterepresentant sorenskriver Thomas Bryn, og stemte med unionspartiet.
Lande ble aldri stortingsrepresentant, men var i to perioder (1818 og 1821) varamann.
