Lillehammer Brænderi (spritproduksjon) ble etablert i 1847 med Mesnaelva som kraftkilde. Bedriften ble senere utvidet til å omfatte bryggeri (øl) og mineralvannfabrikk. Bryggeriet ble tatt i bruk i 1853, frem til 1983 og ble overtatt av Nora Industrier i 1984.
Hamar Bryggeri var med i kampen om å få kjøpt opp Lillehammer Bryggeri i 1983/1984, men tapte kampen mot Nora som ekspanderte stort i denne perioden. Fra 1988 ble Hamar Bryggeri omdøpt til Hamar og Lillehammer Bryggeri.
Bryggerikvartalet ble bygd ut før Lillehammer-OL av selskapet Moelven Eiendom, og huset Lillehammer olympiske organisasjonskomité (LOOC). I dag er tomta utbygd med topp moderne leiligheter i samme stil som industribygningene. Produksjonshallene er brukt som restaurant og nattklubb, og administrasjonsdelen er utleielokaler. Lillehammer Microbryggeri har etablert seg i deler av bygningsmassen.
