Gjenstander samlet inn av misjonær Anna Lissa Monsen fra Rognan i Saltdal. Hun var utdannet sykesøster og jordmor. Hun var i Tanzania minst tre perioder. Den første terminen tjenestegjorde hun som sykesøster og jordmor ved Dogobesh klinikk. Senere ble hun overført til Haydom sykehus, og var der den andre terminen. I sin tredje termin overtok hun ledelsen av Dogobesh klinikk. (Kilde: Avisartikkel i Nordlands Framtid 11.11.1966)
Rognan Barneskole fikk Anna Lissas samling gjenstander fra Afrika. Disse var utstilt i et monter på skolen i ca. 40-50 år. I 2018 tok skolen kontakt med kulturkontoret i Saltdal kommune for å høre om de ville ta over gjenstandene. Kulturkontoret måtte si nei til henvendelsen på grunn av manglende kapasitet, men sendte forespørselen videre til Nordlandsmuseet. Det ble da avgjort at museet skulle ta imot samlingen, på grunn av Anna Lissa Monsens tilknytning til kommunen. Planen er å montere utstillingen på loftet i Skippergården på Saltdal Bygdetun.
