Denne gjenstanden tilhører Richard Christopher-samlingen fra Leet School House, Sør-Dakota.
«Leet School House» ble oppført ved tettstedet Letcher i Sanborn County i Sør-Dakota i 1882, og ble brukt som skole i den lokale skolekretsen frem til den ble erstattet av et nytt bygg i 1968.
Richard Christopher, norsk-amerikansk bonde fra Letcher, berget da det lille ettroms skolehuset, der han selv hadde vært elev, fra rivning. Christopher sikret også inventaret i skolen i tillegg til at han samlet gjenstander fra andre skoler som skulle legges ned i distriktet omkring. Han plasserte disse i skolehuset, som nå var blitt et lite privatmuseum på gården. I 2006 donerte han både skolehuset og hele samlingen til Norsk utvandrermuseum.
Skolehuset ble demontert og fraktet til Norge i 2007 og gjenreist på museets uteområde i 2015 under navnet Leet-Christopher skolehus. Christophers samling består av over 600 gjenstander. Den omfatter alt hva elever ved en slik skole på den amerikanske prærien måtte ha bruk for; alt fra pulter, kateter, orgel og steintavle til lærebøker, matbokser, blekkhus og kritt.
