Per Terje Norheim oktober 2020:
Japanese dagger, tanto, mounted as aikuchi
Blade: Shinogi tsukuri (ridged), hamon (tempered line) midare (slightly wavy). Length of blade to ha machi (beginnig of tang) 20,3 cm, width at ha machi 2,3 cm. Habaki (collar) of copper. The handle is stuck, deatils of tang are therefore not available, but the blade appears late, probably shinshinto (1780 – 1870).
Mounts: Mounted as an aikuchi, i.e. without a guard. Saya (scabbard) in roiro (black laquer) with room for kozuka (small knife) which is in shakudo (copper and gold alloy) decorated with a dragon in relief.
Tsuka (hilt) wrapped in thin, black tread. Menuki (hilt ornaments) in shakudo with gold details.
All other mounts are in black horn.
