Jingasa litterally means «camp hat» and was worn by all ranks, also in peaceful surroundings.
Regular style, circular with a slight dome. Made of wood or possibly papier mache. Diameter 37 cm. Laquered black on both outside and inside, with a small double tomoe (comma shaped) mon (clan /familiy badge) in gold. Complete with padding and fastening cord. The mon is used by a number of different clans/families.
