Funnene fremkom ved arkeologisk undersøkelse av registeret boplass. Undersøkelsen ble utført i september til november 2019 av Kulturhistorisk museum. Undersøkelsen besto av flateavdekking og undersøkelse av påviste bosetningsspor og en tradisjonell steinaldergravning i ruter. Før den maskinelle avtorvingen ble det håndgravd jevnt spredte prøveruter (0,5 x 0,5 m).
Det ble i alt påvist 117 strukturer. Av disse er det 63 stolpehull fra to ulike husområder med flere faser i senneolitikum og eldre bronsealder (ca. 2350–1100 fvt.) I ett av områdene lyktes det å identifisere grunnplanet til deler av en av bygningene, et toskipet langhus på minst 16,5 m. Bygningen (Hus A Nord) var trolig i bruk mellom 1350 og 1245 fvt. I tillegg 23 kokegroper og ildsteder og avfallslag. C14-dateringene viser at hoveddelen av disse øvrige strukturene/lagene er samtidige med Hus A Nord, men det forkommer også eldre og yngre tidfestinger.
Totalt ble 30 prøver sendt til vedanatomisk analyse ved Moesgaard Museum, 25 prøver sendt inn til makrofossilanalyse hos Arkeologerna. Det ble utført radiologisk datering på til sammen 32 prøver av makrofossil (kull/vedart og 7 prøver av pattedyr ved Laboratoriet for 14C-dateringer, Lunds Universitet. Det osteologisk materiale ble analysert ved Arkeologarna, Statens Historiska museer. Analyseresultatene og kopier av analyserapportene finnes i utgravningsrapporten (Sand-Eriksen og Mjærum 2021).Funnet: 2019
