Våren 2017 gjennomførte Kulturhistorisk museum arkeologisk utgravning av tre lokaliteter på Drognes i Nes kommune, Akershus. Undersøkelsen ble utført i forbindelse med omregulering av dyrket mark til boligformål på deler av Drognes gård. Akershus fylkeskommune gjennomførte arkeologisk registrering av området i 2007 (Engh 2008). Undersøkelsen påviste omfattende spor etter bosetning, samt en branngrav fra vikingtid (C60102) som tilstand fordret sikringsutgravning samme år (Simonsen 2016).Utgravningsområdet i 2017 omfattet dyrket mark som dekket to høydedrag med god utsikt mot Glomma. Det ble til sammen maskinelt avdekket 5186 m² fordelt på tre felt Lok 1-3, med vekt på Lok 1. Det ble avdekket 487 strukturer. Av disse var de fleste stolpehull, hvorav 132 er knyttet grunnplanet til en av åtte, treskipete langhus. I tillegg ble det påvist brønner/vannhull, groper, nedgravninger, ulike lag, kokegroper, ildsted og grøfter. Det ble også funnet gjenstander av kleberstein, jern og glass, i tillegg til brente bein, ubrent trevirke og brent/sintret leire.
Det er analysert 75 flotterte, og to uvaskede makrofossilprøver, samt to pollenserier ved Miljöarkeologiska laboratoriet (MAL), Umeå Universitet (2018). Nærmest 210 g brente bein analysert ved Stiftelsen SAU, (Societas Archaeologica Upsaliensis) (2018). Åtte tynnslip fra fem mikromorfologiske prøver er analysert av Dr. Richard Macphail ved London University (2018). 42 kull –og treprøver er detaljert vedartbestemt ved Moesgård museum (2018). Et skallefragment, 12 korn, 6 biter uforkullet trevirke og 22 kullprøver fra utgravningen er radiologisk datert ved Tandem Laboratory, Uppsala (2018). Analyserte mikromorfologiske prøver og pollenprøver, samt radiologisk daterte prøver er forbrukt ved analyse. Restmateriale fra de øvrige analysene er tilbakesendt KHM. Alle analyseresultater foreligger i utgravningsrapport (Sæther 2018).

Nummeret omfatter prøver og funn fra Hus I på Drognes. Hus I var et tre-skipet langhus, orientert NØ-SV, som tolkning omfatter 17/(18) stolpehull knyttet takbærende stolper fordelt på seks grinder, samt en veggrøft/(takdrypp) i tre deler og åtte stolpehull sannsynlig knyttet til veggstolper. Tre stolpehull avdekket sentralt i husets midtakse er knyttet til mulige dørstolper i en indre skillevegg.Funnet: 2017
