- Lokaliteten ble oppdaget ved arbeide i forbindelse med oppføring av nytt løklager på gården Hveem Nordøstre 72/1. Oppland fylkeskommune utførte registreringen av feltet og de fant 24 mulige strukturer hvorav 12 var kokegroper, 11 mulige stolpehull og ett dyrkningslag (Andersen, 2009). Kulturhistorisk museum overtok utgravningen og avdekte videre. Totalt ble det funnet 40 strukturer, hvor det var ett dyrkningslag, 5 stolpehull, 19 kokegroper og 3 andre strukturer. 12 strukturer ble avskrevet. Stolpehullene utgjorde ingen sikre hus. Alle kokegroper, foruten en, lå i dyrkningslaget. Det ble samlet inn prøver fra de strukturene som ble snittet. Alle treartsanalyser ble utført av Helge I. Høeg, makrofossilanalyser ble utført av Annine S. A. Moltsen, og 14C datering av frø og kull ble utført av NTNU (DF-4282), i Russ (2010). Lokaliteten lå i en svak helling opp mot en åsrygg bak selve Hveem-gårdene. SSØ for lokaliteten ligger id33063, gravhaug, og 180 meter V ligger id23390, gravminne.
