Barns øyne.
Livet sett gjennom Barns øyne ved tusenårsskiftet. Et prosjekt av Annelise Jackbo. En fotoutstilling.
To- tre skoleklasser i alle landets fylker har fotografert sin hverdag gjennom hele 1999. Barn i alderen 8-16 år benyttet engangskameraer og tok til sammen ca. 50 000 bilder. Til mange av bildene formulerte barnet en tekst. Ut fra det enorme billedmaterialet presenteres nå både en utstilling og en bok med navnet Barns øyne. Boken lanseres tidlig i november.
Utstillingen var et samarbeid mellom initiativtaker og fotograf Annelise Jackbo og Riksutstillinger. Bildene er kopiert av Bjørn Johnsen. Utstillingen åpnet i Oslo Rådhus 20. november 1999 i samband med 10-årsdagen for Barnekonvensjonen. Utstillingen turnerer deretter i hele Norge.
«Barn er vår viktigste ressurs. Jeg elsker det sort/hvite dokumentarfotografiet. Gjennom Barns øyne har jeg søkt å utvikle gleden for fotografiet hos barn og unge over hele Norge. Samtidig har budskapet mitt vært at barn har rett til å mene og tenke fritt, og at det skal være det de ahr lyst til å fortelle, det de syns er viktig. Barnet selv skal ta bildet, og det er barnet selv som skal bestemme hva de vil ta bilder av. Bare hvis de selv vil kan de høre på råd fra voksne.
Det har vært fantastisk å bla seg gjennom nærmere 50.000 sort/hvitt fotografier og mange er veldig bra. Hvert barn har fått flere av bildene sine til teksting, og ut fra dette har jeg, med god hjelp fra Nils Fredrik Lysebo (sivilarbeider) valg ut fotografier til utstillingen og boka Barns øyne. Med så mange fantastiske bilder, med underfundige, morsomme eller alvorlige tekster, har det vært en vanskelig jobb å velge ut bilder. Heldigvis får vi også lagt ut ca. 1000 bilder på Redd Barnas Internettsider i januar 2000. Så å si alle barna har tatt oppgaven meget alvorlig, noe som fører til at vi også sitter med et unikt historisk materiale fra slutten av det nittende århundre. Dette skal tas vare på av Nasjonalbiblioteket og Telemarksforskning, Senter for nasjonal barnekunst. Barns øyne er på denne måten blitt noe som også vil være viktig for senere generasjoner."
Annelise Jackbo er født 4.juni 1959 i Oslo., og har siden 1981 jobbet som fotograf. Hun ble ansatt i Dagbladet i 1986. Hun har hatt flere utstillinger i inn – og utland, og utgitt bok før. Under prosjektet har hun hatt permisjon fra Dagbladet, men mange av barnas fotografier er allerede publisert i Dagbladet.
