- Hans Trygve Tveten var en av over 644 studenter ved Universitetet i Oslo, som i 1943 ble arrestert og sendt til Tyskland. Han var både i SS-skoleringsleiren St. Andreas i Sennheim (nå Cernay), og i Buchenwald ved Weimar. Tyske myndigheter prøvde uten hell å gjøre nazister ut av studentene, og de hadde derfor mange fordeler som ikke andre fanger hadde. Hans Trygve Tveten etterlot seg flere ruller med fotografier fra tiden i tysk fangenskap.
