"Prekestolen var "og meesten deel i stycker falden" 1697 og måtte "styche for styche" igjen sammensettes, dessuten ble den forbedret med "en deel Engle-hoved, Piler og Løvverch oven og neden" av Corfitz Cornelssøn. (...) Prekestoloppgangen ble panelt og fikk dør. 2 allegoriske figurer på Norsk Folkemuseum, angitt som Adam og Eva ved innsendelsen til museet, men snarere Fides (troen) og Pietas (fromheten), kan muligens ha flankert prekestoloppgangen på tilsvarende måte som Adam og Eva i Eidsberg og Stange. De er begge fra sl. av 1600-årene. Fides er skåret i bjerk og og malt på krittgrunn i likhet med altertavlens figurer, mens Pietas er av ek og har friske farver uten krittgrunn. Fides har ant. holdt en kalk i den ene hånd og kors i den annen. Pietas har ant. holdt en palmegren."
