Travel posters have for over a hundred years given us a sense of adventure. Known and unknown artists and photographers have illustrated the dream of exciting destinations and new experiences.

Posters were art for the everyday, they were splashes of colour with an function. Mass art and mass tourism was a phenomenon that arose at the beginning of the 20th century. It was the result of a greater accessibility of goods such as art and leisure, something that was previously only for the few. The posters were works of art for everyone, free of charge, in public spaces or outdoors.
