  • Det siste jeg gjorde før jeg dro fra SINTEF i 1991 var å pakke den ned i en kasse. Trodde aldri jeg skulle se den igjen. Jobbet bl a med å programmere denne i perioden 1988-1991.
  • I was a student at NTH in 1983. The early prototype used PROM (one-time programmable, fast and dense memories) for SW for the DSPs (Digital Signal Processors). New batch of PROMs were expensive! I had designed an SRAM-based solution to replace PROMs for my BBC Model B micro. I proposed and designed a more cost-effective solution when the DSP boards were updated. SRAM is fast, dense but volatile and must be initialized. The approach was to use EPROMs (cheap, reprogrammable, dense and SLOW) for DSP SW storage. Upon startup, the DSP was held in reset and tri-stated, the EPROM content was copied (slowly) to SRAM and when done, tri-stated. Then DSPs were released from reset and could execute from SRAM. This allowed far more experiments with new SW and algorithms. A small, but useful contribution - I hope!
  • Jeg må korrigere meg selv i kommentaren over. På NTM ser jeg at dette er første versjon, jeg jobbet med en oppdatert utgave.
