Informasjon om slaget om København i 1801 (påskrift på trykket):
THIS LINE OF DEFENCE before COPENHAGEN was attacked and defeated by a Squadron of British Ships under the Command of Vice Admiral Lord Nelson upon the Morning of the 2d of April 1801, thereby removing the principalprotection to the City and Dock Yard against a Maritime Bombardment (..) dreadful Consequences of which were happily averted by the Danes agreeing to terms which were offered from motives of Humanity and Moderation. These Ships fought with obstinate valor for four Hours, supported by heavy Batteries, particularly the Crown Island on their left Flank, but the whole Line to theSouthward of that Island consisting of eighteen Ships, seven of them being Line of Battle, were obliged to strike to the superior fire of the English notwithstanding the intricacy of the Navigation in a narrow Channel and the great inferiority of the Afsailants in the Number of their Ships and Guns. This print it is hoped will convey to the Public a correct Idea of the nature and force of these Vessels as well as the apparance of Copenhagen from the Sea both as which must be materially obscured by any attempt to represent the English Squadron in Action (..). The Sketch was taken by anOfficer of Artillery employed as action Engineer to the Expedition. The Ships carrying the Danish Commodore's broad Pendant, took Fire and blew up during the Action. The others were burnt by the English, as soon as the Prisoners would be removed. Several Shells were thrown into the Town by the Bomb Ships, one of them set fire to a Store House in the Dock Yard, which burnt for more than two Hours. The Troops embarked for this Expedition, & commanded by the Hon-ble Lt. Stewart, consisted of the 49th Reg-ts, and a Detachment of the Rifle Corps.
