Telefonen kommer fra en privat samler i Tsjekkia.
Denne modellen var verdens første håndholte mobiltelefon. Den første modellen var
8000x og kom i 1983. Den kostet ca 4000 dollar på den tid. Det var 6 mnd ventetid på å få denne telefonen.
Den kom i salg i Storbritannia 1. januar 1985, og den aller første telefonsamtalen ble gjort av Ernie Wise! Denne ble fulgt opp i Storbritannia i 1986 av de 8000s & i 1988 av 8500x og i USA i 1990 av 8000m. Disse telefonene er alle analoge, så vil ikke fungere på moderne nettverk så de brukte ikke SIM-kort.

Phone with battery attached measures 19.5cm high x 4cm wide x 8cm deep. Antenna is 15cm long. Weight of package is 1.43kg.
This phone is in good used condition, with general wear and tear and some dings. It powers up, with the battery provided. All the keys work and the screen is bright and clear. The battery is not original, but it is in good condition and holds some charge. The charging stand and adaptor are original and fully working. The antenna is a brand new non-original replacement. The case is from a Stornophone 220 which is a similar phone sold at the same time as the 8500x

The DynaTAC 8500x was the phone sold by Motorola in the UK, which replaced the 8000s. They were the first mobile phone sold in large numbers.
Package consists of the phone, battery, charging stand, adaptor with a UK type 3-pin plug, case and antenna.
