Fotografiet er avfotografert fra en privat samling bilder fra skolehagen på Hengsengen, Bygdø Kongsgård på 1920-tallet.
En mindre tomt, helt nord i enden av Hengsengens jorder, ble fra 1913 avgitt fra Bygdø Kongsgård, til bruk som skolehage. Det var først Skøyen skole, som den gang het Bygdøy skole, som brukte skolehagen. Skolen lå ved Hoffselvens utløp i Frognerkilen og fikk navnet Skøyen først i 1920. Fra 1921 fikk Aker kommune bygsle skoletomt på Bygdø Kongsgård ved Lille Strømsborg. Her ble dagens Bygdøy skole oppført og tatt i bruk i 1926. Skolehagen på Hengsengen ble overtatt av Smedstad skole i 1938, da Skøyen skole ble nedlagt. Fra 1970-tallet har Ruseløkka skole drevet skolehagen med vekslende intensitet. Fra 2012 driver Bygdø Kongsgård selv skolehagen i samarbeid med Unikum, mens Ruseløkka skole disponerer en mindre parsell i det pedagogiske arbeidet.
