VIETNAMESE AIR FORCE GOES SUPERSONIC -- The first squadron of supersonic jets to be transferred to the Vietnamese Air Force is reviewed at Bien Hoa Air Base near Saigon. From left are US Ambassador Ellsworth Bunker, Brigadier General Tan Van Minh, deputy commander of the Vietnamese Air Force, and Prime Minister Nguyen Cao Ky. Ambassador Bunker Turned over the F-5 "Freedom Fighter" craft on June 1, Vietnamese Air Force Day. The planes ar to be used in close air support of ground troops, and for air defense and interdiction missions. The Vietnamese Air Force is scheduled to recevie more of the twin-jet fighters.
