Albumtekst:
CAPE KENNEDY, FLA -- The Gemini 3 spacecraft is shown in the water after the march 23 four-hour and 53-minute flight by Astronauts Virgil I (Gus) Grissom and John W. Young. Two SH-3A helicopters from the USS Intrepid hover over the scene for the pickup of the astronauts. Helicopter No. 57, with Lt. Cmdr. Warren H. Winchester as command pilot, made the pickup and carried the Gemini astronauts to the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid. A interesting sidelight, according to Navy officisals, is that the same helicopter on may 24, 1962 picked up astronaut M. Scott Carpenter from his three-orbit in a Mercury spacecraft. The liftoff time for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's GT-3 flight was 9:24 am EST.
