Albumtekst:
Lastest flight view of a Convair RB-36 reconnaissance version of the long-range B-36 bomber. Like the latest-model B-36s, the RB-36 reconnaissance airplane is equipped with four jet engines in addition to six pusher-type piston engines. Externally, the RB-36 reconnaissance airplane closely resembles the B-36 bomber; but internally, instead of boms, the RB-36 carries the large cameras and other special equipment needed in long-range high-altitude reconnaissance. In the RB-36 forward bomb bay, for example, are 14 different cameras, including one with a 42-inch focal length lens. This is belived to be the largest photographic setup ever designed into one airplane. The Air Force has disclosed that maximum speed of these RB-36 reconnaissance airplane if "over 435 miles an hour" and that their servide ceiling is "over 45 000 feet." These RB-36s, as well as B-36 bombers, were built at Convair-Forth Worth.
