Skilt på modellen: "The first linear accelerator with multi- acceleration of ions in an electrical alternating fuld. Constructed by Rolf Widerøe. Technical University of Aachen 1927. Potassium ions were sent through a drifttube which was connected to an alternating voltage of about 25 kV. Peak 1 MHZ. The ions passing through the tube were accelerated 2 times in the electrical fuld and gained an energy of 50 KEV.
The model is an exact copy of the original apparatus. It was built in 1985 at the Norwegian Radium Hospital under the guidance of Olav Netteland and Rolf Widerøe."
