Front row of grave markers are for Sgt Marshal (Wireless Operator), P/O Underwood (2nd Pilot) and Sgt McDermott (Front Gunner), Sgt Bennett (Tail Gunner) and in the row behind the grave markers for P/O Tree (Navigator) and F/Lt MacKid DFC (Pilot) can be seen from Lancaster L7572 OF-L of RAF 97 Squadron. This aircraft was shot down on the night of 27th April 1942 during an attack on Tirpitz in Fættenfjord near Trondheim. It crashed near Kaldåsdammen at the western end of Ausetvatnet, with the loss of all seven crew onboard. All are buried at Stavne.
