- HistoryFødt på gården Bustetun i Odda 03.01.1832, død i Bergen 21.05.1915. Hadde sannsynligvis lært fotografering hos M. Selmer i Bergen i slutten av 1850- årene. Etter studietur til Tyskland for å lære fruktddyrking i begynnelsen av 1860- årene, men hvor han også fotograferte meget, startet han sitt atelier i Bergen i 1864. Han fotograferte både portretter og landskapsbilder, men spesialiserte seg temmelig snart på det siste, og reiste rundt og fotograferte i mesteparten av Norge. Hans praktfulle landskaps- og folkelivsbilder ble en glimrende turistvare. Praktisk talt hele firmaets arkiv fra 1860- årene av var intakt, og hele firmaets arkiv ble våren 1975 kjøpt av Universitetsbiblioteket i Bergens billedsamling. Knud Knudsen var eigar av bruk 3 og 5 på Tokheim i Odda
