Vasskraftutbygginga Tysso II i Skjeggedal/Tyssedalsfjellet på 1960-talet. Saman med dei store fossane vart elver og vatn frå Langavatnet til Nibbehøl, Nybuvassdraget, Breiavatnet, Tyssevassdraget, Endåen, Halle Grøne, Slet og Floren leia inn i eit 17,5 kilometer langt tunnelsystem. Vatnet endte opp i to vertikale Peltonturbinar i kraftstasjonen 450 meter inne i fjellet i Skjeggedal, omlag ti meter under normal vasstand i Ringedalsdammen.
Tunnelsystemet var bygd på eit takrenneprinsipp der mindre vassdrag og bekkar vart førde inn i tunnelen for hovudvassdraget på ulike stader på vegen ned mot kraftstasjonen. Dette hadde aldri vore gjort i Norge før, og det fanst berre eitt liknande tilfelle i heile verda.
