- På Eitrheim byrja det tyske foretaket Nordag byggjinga av ein større elektrolysehall for aluminium, og Nordag opptok forhandlingar med Tyssefaldene AS om utbygging av Tysso 2 for å skaffa kraft til prosjektet. Forhandlingane vart bevisst saboterte av Tyssefaldene som ikkje fann det formålstenleg å slippa Nordag inn som aksjonær i selskapet, men heller "forhandla" for å hala tida ut. Tyskarane vart utålmodige og sette i 1941/42 i gong arbeidet med Tysso 2 etter sine eigne planar, men utan nokon avtale med Tyssefaldene. På Eitrheim og i Skjeggedal var til tider bortimot 1000 mann i arbeid, mange av dei russiske krigsfangar. Då krigslykka byrja snu vart det heile gjeve opp sommaren 1943. Det meiste vart rive og skipa med båt frå Eitrheim til Tyskland. Arbeidet som var gjort på Tysso 2 skulle sidan visa seg å få liten eller ingen verdi.
