Bildet er tatt i forbindelse med at trafikken ble enveiskjørt fra denne dato. Trikkene mot Ullevål, Majorstua og Sagene fikk ny trasé via Grensen mellom Stortorvet og C. J. Hambros plass (da het det Rosenkrantz plass). Trikkene motsatt vei fortsatte å kjøre via Karl Johans gate som før.
