Bussen er registrert ZE12360, en buss som opprinnelig tilhørte Troms Innland Rutebil (TIRB). Det var en 1971-modell som først ble registrert X-50127. Det var en Volvo B57-60 med karosseri bygd hos Brødrene Repstad, Søgne. Den ble seinere solgt til Sørøy-Buss på Sunnmøre. Det må ha skjedd tidligst i 1982 fordi Sørøy-Buss ble stiftet dette året.
