Frå føraren på Valdres Folkemuseum (2012):
"Bygd ikring 1890. 42, bnr. 2, i Vestre Slidre). Badet vart sett i ein bekk ovanfor hotellet. Vatnet vart ført inn i ein stamp på loftet. På grunn av solvarmen frå steintaket vart vatnet varma opp, slik at gjestene kunne nyte eit varmt dusjbad utpå eftan."
ENGLISH:
Shower from Ølken Hotel: Built around 1890. Moved to Valdres Folk Museum in the 1970s. Health was an important issue during the 19th century. New knowledge about the relationship between disease and hygiene put an increased emphasis on work to improve public health. The results of this campaign could be seen everywhere: public baths, national programs for housing development, and an increased interest in mountain hiking and outdoor life. Tourism was a growing industry at the end of the 19th century. Around 1890, for the comfort of their guests, the owners of Ølken Hotel set up a bathhouse in a stream above the hotel. Water ran into a tub in the loft. Heated by the sun during the day, the slate roof warmed up the water so the tourists could enjoy a shower in the late afternoon.
