Reidar Jacobsen poserer med ryggmeis for utbæring av pluggplanter på plantefelt. Jacobsen var kledd i tidstypiske slengbukser og kvit skjorte med oppbrettete ermer. Bildet er tatt bakfra. Ryggmeisen besto av ei kvitlakkert stålramme med «hyller» i tre høyder. På hver av disse hyllene var det plassert to pottebrett (M 95), som antakelig var festet med reimer. Kapasiteten var med andre ord på opptil 570 planter. Bærerens stilling, med noe framoverbøyd overkropp, tyder på at børa var forholdsvis tung. Ryggmeisen ble båret i skulderstropper av nylon, av samme type som ble brukt på den tids ryggsekker. Fotografiet er tatt i forbindelse med en undersøkelse personale fra Norsk institutt for skogforskning (NISK) gjorde i Eidsvoll prestegardsskog sommeren 1977 for å finne ut hvordan man mest mulig effektivt skulle handtere de nye dekkrotplantene og plastbrettene de ble levert i under plantearbeid i skogen.
Reidar Jacobsen var skogteknikerutdannet og daglig leder ved den forstlige forsøksstasjonen Silvifuturum. En periode var han også leder i Norges skogteknikerforbund. I bakgrunnen til høyre skimter vi deler av bygningene på Silvifuturum.

Dette fotografiet inngår i ei samling der fotografene var driftsteknisk orienterte medarbeidere i Det norske skogforsøksvesen, som i 1972 skiftet navn til Norsk institutt for skogforskning (NISK). Bildene er stort sett tatt under befaringer og forsøksprosjekter som dette skogteknologiske forskingsmiljøet organiserte eller var delaktige i perioden fra 1947 til slutten av 1980-åra. Samlinga, som består av en del tematisk orienterte permer med innlimte kopier samt film (negativer og fargedias) og opptaksjournaler, ble overdratt fra Institutt for skog og landskap ved Universitetet for miljø- og biovitenskap (UMB) til Norsk Skogmuseum (NSM) høsten 2008. Etter fusjonen med Norges veterinærhøgskole i 2014 giverne av arkivet skiftet navn til «Norges miljø- og biovitenskapelige universitet» (NMBU). Kontrakt om overdragelsen av materialet finnes i Norsk Skogmuseums avtalearkiv. Dette motivet er fra en perm merket «241 Skogkulturarbeider, planting, manuelt». Negativnummeret er 24155.
